Knowledgeable and competent governance
boards should be one of an organization's best assets.
Board members who are engaged and understand their
role contribute in productive ways. Some organizations
do not fully take advantage of these resources, and
board members can feel frustrated that they are not
making a more meaningful contribution. In other situations,
an already engaged Board wishes to embark on its own
development strategy and challenge its organization
to meet higher standards and exceed expectations.
