Rafael Mata – Senior Associate

I see my role at JANUS Solutions as helping counties and the state communicate more effectively with each other and the people they serve. A large part of my job is to connect people with the resources they need to better understand and access the systems established to serve them.

Helping people is critical to me. Coming from an immigrant family myself, I have walked in their shoes and I know how they feel and how I can help. I also believe working for JANUS Solutions has allowed me to accomplish many personal and professional goals. Thanks to JANUS Solutions’ reputation and influence in the state I am able to access and offer policy and decision makers a different perspective on critical issues and challenges affecting children and families statewide.

For instance, one of the greatest challenges we face in the Human Services arena I think is not how to remedy problems but how to prevent them from occurring in the first place. JANUS Solutions’ focus is on prevention through education. Educating agencies, policymakers and leaders at every level of government not only on how to address problems but also on new ways to prevent or forestall them through strategic planning and better communication.
